BIOGRAPHY

Hounds Of Hulme are a techno outfit that rose from the silted depths of the Manchester ship canal in summer 2011.

The band's first strike was a remix of No Ceremony's Hurtlove, described by LosingToday.com as a "diode distressing... sparse and minimalist mechanoid meltdown glitch funk groove." The Hounds went on to self-release two EPs, some standalone tracks and an album. The latter was reviewd as a "good techno album, with a bit of low level Aphex Twin washed through" by Acid Ted.

The bite behind Hounds Of Hulme comes from award-winning music blogger Fat Roland. His first ever job was as a local music columnist and he can still be found sweating out a 'those-that-can't' frustration on the dancefloors of Orbital and Squarepusher gigs.

Hounds Of Hulme was born from a grim period of insomnia in which, bored out of his mind, Fat Roland fired up the machines and began spitting beats and vomming up waveforms.

The 'Hulme' bit of the name is a nod to the Megadog days of Manchester when crusty clubbers everywhere descended on the New Ardri (pictured) on the border of Hulme to get lost in serious 808 madness. Hounds Of Hulme are not afraid to wear their history on their collar.
